Early Summer Finding HOPE Newsletter

I hope everyone is doing well and safely navigating their way through these turbulent times. I am so excited to announce that HOPE Sheds Light is ready to take the initial steps towards our version of a Phase 1 reopening. We are going to take advantage of the gift of nature and the season of summer to move some of our programming outside (weather permitting). So, what does that look like for us? We have already started opening the Butterfly Garden. Volunteers, in groups under 25 in number, have been meeting on Wednesdays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday mornings from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. We have been weeding and mulching and planting. It has been wonderful to see some of you in-person again. Also, we will start holding our Family Meetings outside in the Butterfly Garden (weather permitting) effective June 16th. Please be sure to check our Facebook Events page on the day of the meeting(s) in case we have to move the meeting to Zoom due to weather. We will be conservative in making that decision and will move to Zoom even if there is just a forecast of rain that is in the high percentages. Please note that we will continue offering the virtual option for our family support meeting that will run simultaneously regardless of the weather. This way, if you can’t make it or you are uncomfortable gathering just yet, you can still login for support. All the details can be found on our Facebook Events page and we will also be sending the details to everyone on our mailing list. The rest of our programs will remain virtual until July, at which time we will move all our wellness classes and other programs outside with the same policies as stated above. Stay tuned as we will continually update you throughout the month.
